i could only, at the time, view the owl's nest but i swear it's worth it! hours of entertainment.

finally got a fairly decent pic of one of lily's bunnies. this one is from the most recent batch (there are currently 9 living here now that I know of) and this one is about the size of a deck of cards. that's the good news... bad news is the bigger ones like cilantro and pansies. what lily didn't realize was how close she was to this bunny in particular. after i took this shot, the bunny finally got up the nerve to hop away back under the deck. just as it was hopping towards the deck, lily jumped over her from deck to the grass and never even noticed the rabbit right underneath her. a huntress lily is not.

i've been playing nurse for my mom who had surgery 4/1. i took a week off because she can't drive and when first came home from rehab needed someone home with her. that became a week and a half as she had some issues related to the surgery pop up. thank goodness for a plethora of personal and vacation days at work! am hoping the boss lady will let me work from home tomorrow as i need to take her to one more (hopefully) doctor's appt. then it's physical therapy appts the next 3 weeks! at least i can arrive to work fashionably late without too much ado. thank goodness for understanding bosses!

been duped

i think we've been duped. what the heck happened with the merger of satellite radio? wasn't it a year ago that the merger was announced, yet here it is almost a year later? not even huge telecommunication company mergers take this long.
babysitting the lily today. she made a bee line for the rosemary bush- sure enough out flushed a rabbit. i have a feeling i may get to post baby bunny pictures again. i'm sure it's only a matter of 'when' and not 'if'. what i don't get is that there is a deck where they would be completely protected from dog attacks, yet they keep making nests in the herb garden. i think 'they' got it wrong when the term 'bird-brained' was coined.
going on a little mini-vacation with my dad next weekend. we don't get back till late on election day, so i need to go to the library for early voting. i think letting obama take the democratic nomination is a big mistake. if obama wins the dem vote, mccain is going to win. if hillary wins, hillary will be our next president. hillary has a solid campaign. obama is still undecided on major issues- not to mention that he just doesn't have enough experience- he hasn't even run a full senate seat yet. i'm just very very leery of him.
that's my story and i'm sticking to it.

it appears as though poor lily is 'obese'. she went to the doc today (new doc so they required that they see her first) to get a shot. we always thought she was getting kinda chunky, and sure enough she is. she's supposed to eat only 433 calories a day! aww.. poor lily. other than that, she's in good shape. the doctor agreed that she does seem to shed an awful lot, so she got something for her food. isn't it funny how you take better care of your pets than you do yourself? she just celebrated her 2nd birthday new years day. so this entry is on homage to simpler times for miss lil.....
